An Invitation to Health and Connection
Kizuna Center will be a learning and wellness center located in Japan's countryside conveniently close to Tokyo. "Kizuna" is the Japanese word for "connection" and signifies the Center's commitment to creating opportunities for people to deepen our connections with nature, with one another, and with our own bodies, hearts, and creativity. Kizuna Center will be dedicated to fostering holistic wellness and environmental sustainability.
We will pursue these goals by hosting events, workshops, and classes in bodywork and massage, dance, yoga, art, music, meditation, nutrition, fasting and cleansing, natural farming, permaculture, and a variety of other fields. We will also maintain an organic farm and a vegan kitchen and practice nature conservation.
Kizuna Center will give people a chance to immerse themselves in the quiet beauty of natural surroundings away from the city among others who share an interest in personal development, wellness practices, and green living.
In a typical day at Kizuna Center, our guests and staff will have the opportunity to participate in various classes and events, tour our farm, relax in our hot spring baths, receive a bodywork session, walk in our gardens, eat in our vegan dining room, and enjoy interacting with a diversity of people from around the world. Guests may also have a hands-on learning experience in natural farming, vegan cooking, or other aspects of Kizuna Center by volunteering to spend some of their time working alongside our staff.
Parents will be encouraged to bring their children along to experience Kizuna Center's unique children's learning program. We will support children in exploring nature, art, music, and play in a setting where their individuality is welcome and they are free to choose their own activities. We will also present infant massage classes to foster parent-child bonding and healthy child development.
Kizuna Center will offer guests the option to stay for part of a day, overnight, or for several days, weeks, or longer.
Some guests may choose to enroll in a day-long or multi-day workshop, joining a group of students with an experienced workshop leader to focus on specific topics for an extended period of time. Other guests may instead choose to have all their time free for rest, rejuvenation, and enjoyment of the daily activities, diverse features, and nurturing environment Kizuna Center offers. Several classes of one to two hours in duration will be held daily in areas such as dance, yoga, art, music, connection with nature, and meditation which guests will be able to drop in on anytime. Internships will be available to people who want to experience learning, working, and living in our unique setting for a time.
In the spirit of community service, Kizuna Center will also organize volunteer programs which will include supporting expecting and new mothers, orphan children, and elderly, hospitalized, disabled, impoverished, and homeless people with donations of organic food from our farm and nurturing touch sessions.
Kizuna Center will not be denominational and will welcome people without discrimination on the basis of religion, nationality, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, appearance, or disability. Our staff will include Japanese, English, Chinese, German, and French speakers, and our classes will typically be taught in Japanese and/or English. We will accommodate all visitors to the best of our abilities regardless of language comprehension levels.
Kizuna Center will open in 2011. To join our mailing list and receive news about Kizuna Center including the eventual announcement of our opening date and our schedule of events and workshops, please contact us. We look forward to connecting with you!
